Light is stimulating our circadian rhythm through our eyes and signals our body in essence, when he needs to produce cortisol to be awake and when to produce melatonin to fall asleep. With modern light exposure after sunset, this rhythm is getting significantly disturbed, leading to poor sleep quality and therefore poor performance the next day.
